Random Acts
The Show Random Acts is a feel good show concept. Everyday many of us go out of our way to help people in need. Just regular people doing a good deed for a total stranger. Often refusing any type of compensation or reward. My show Random Acts rewards these incredible people. Through many different situations, people will be given the opportunity to do what most of them do already, help. The only difference is just by stopping to help, they have already been rewarded.
I give them the opportunity to choose 1 of 5 envelopes containing random prizes. Prizes such as a 1 year membership to Snap Fitness, $50 dollar prepaid Visa, Comedy Tickets from The Comedy Factory and Free gas coupons. Just to name a few.
Today was the first day of taping, I have to tell you I felt like Robin Hood. Giving away prizes to people for doing what they would do in any normal situation, help a total stranger. It was exciting! The reaction from the participants was awesome. They could not believe that were being rewarded. We were taping for 1 hour and 20 minutes and had a total of 12 people stop with 5 agreeing to be on camera. We gave away $165.00 worth of prizes donated by private and company sponsors.
The prizes given away today were as follows:
2x $25 gas vouchers
1x $25 prepaid visa
1 eskimo prize pack consiting of 2 tickets to Saturday's game and an eskimo ball cap
1 twin pack of tickets to The Comedy Factory Comedy Club.
Who are these people in need? For this episode we had an actor with a "broken down" car on the side of the road. This presented the opportunity for people to stop and offer assistance.
I could have only done this with the most supportive friends and family that a guy could ask for. These people have been there from the beginning, and will most likely be there at the bitter end. I can not thank them enough.

The Journey Begins, or continues.........
So since the start of the first shooting of the show, things have begun to snowball (sorry I know it's still summer). I had the opportunity to do a radio interview with Jon Ramer at Shine FM 105.9. Since then the Edmonton Journal heard about the show and wants to do an interview as well. In the same day I got an email from Shaw TV, who sees the potential in the show and I have a meeting with them on the 24th. I am soooo excited about the hype this idea has generated. I want to thank the many people who are the reason for me being at this point with the project.
